James Sang ’20

  • James Sang, a Master’s student in the College of Education, believes diversity is about accepting the differences in every individual. He stated when asked what inclusivity at TCU means to him: “Everyone is exposed to different cultures, languages, perspectives, thoughts, and so many more. It is extremely important to understand that everyone feels welcome and safe no matter where we are. Diversity and Inclusion at TCU helped me accept the difference in me and others which gave me confidence and opened more opportunities. Different doesn’t really mean it is good or bad, it is just different. If we all can accept that, the world will be a better off place to live in.”

“I believe that we need to inspire everyone to follow their passions, while letting them inspire us to do the same. My experiences at TCU had shaped me to becoming a person who is capable, dedicated and hardworking, along with having an interest in making a substantial difference in my community. They helped me comprehend that a true leader doesn’t always have to be appreciated, but continuously willing to scarify with love and kindness without expecting anything in return. Leaders must clothe themselves with humility and still love regardless of who they serve.”
